It all began with an iPhone...

An email sent to me by my husband, while he was at work this afternoon.
Some of the other guys were too chicken to forward this to their wives.
I just laughed!

It all began with an iPhone...

March was when my son celebrated his 15th birthday,
and I got him an iPhone. He just loved it. Who wouldn't?

I celebrated my birthday in July, and my wife made me very
happy when she bought me an iPad.

My daughter's birthday was in August so I got her an
iPod Touch.

My wife celebrated her birthday in September,
so I got heran iRon.

It was around then that the fight started......

What my wife failed to recognize is that the iRon can be
integrated into the home network with the iWash, iCook and iClean.

This inevitably activates the iNag reminder service.

I should be out of the hospital by Monday.

Not forgotten about you all.......

I have not forgotten about the blog. This past month we have had no end of sickness passing over us. The children got this cold/virus thingy that gave them high fevers, congestion. Thankfully it only hit one child at a time.

Then I came down with it and ended up in bed for 4 days. Had a migraine on top of it so that was not fun, Seemed to get over that when K came down with it again. :(

My sister and her children came down with it also. My mom took her to the doctor on wed and they found she had a upper respiratory infection.....Well tues night last week I started feeling really ill again and got a very high fever headache aches yes all over again...After my sisters diagnosis my mom decided to take me into the doctor on Friday and yes I have a upper respiratory infection as well. We took K with us to have her checked out as she had pneumonia in Oct and wanted to make sure she did not have it again. He said hers was more a sinus infection so antibiotics it was....better then pneumonia!

I am slowly beginning to feel better. I am managing to get out of bed finally for little bits at a time. K is pretty much back to her happy self. This stuff is not fun to have. It has gone around and around the church.

Now my sister is taking 4 of her children to doctor today.....I am hoping what mine had was the same thing and wont relapse.

None of us have been this sick in such a long time. I hope we are on the mending side now.

School is still progressing well. We have done work but it has been limited. Not alot of crafty/science type things. keeping up with Math /Literacy /History that type of things.

We have finally managed to make piano lessons a couple of times so practicing is being heard everyday which is so nice to hear. L is loving it so much.

I hope to be better at posting as long as we all stay well again.

Have a great day all.

Till next time.

These are a few of the pictures I got of the snow at the Ervins with my phone during the storm.

Taken outside my sisters kitchen window.

On our drive home this was the road side. It got thicker as we came towards our house. You can see the ice and snow on the road that we were driving on.

The bottom of our driveway.

Looking up to the top of our driveway.
Our road at the top.

Our cars are still parked up at the top of the hill. These pictures were taken after we had three days of warming and some melting. :)

Snow days

Below are some postings from my sisters blog and Stephs blog. they did a better job of telling what has happened over the last week then I would. Hope you enjoy them.

Let it Snow!
MONDAY, JANUARY 10, 2011

We are so excited! We have had a true, old fashioned "Snow Day" here in South Carolina. Being in Tx so many years, this is a real treat. They were predicting this for a couple of days. Because we now have a wood stove for heat, and this area is known to lose power (and therefore no heat) when it ices, my sister and children, mom and dad, as well as Stefanie all came for a big sleepover. Sure enough, we got socked in today! We have had a blast. S was able to work from home, and my dad was also. We have played scrabble, uno and just relaxed. We have played out in the snow, had hot chocolate and enjoyed our new wood stove. The snow is so beautiful. And we are so cozy in here. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

S made a romantic heart with his and my initials in it...I love that man!

Is this SC??

I think I kind of look like Humpty Dumpty.

Armed and ready

What would a snow day be without hot chocolate?

Today is R's birthday, so P is making a birthday cake.

MamaMo enjoying K.

Snow!

On Saturday I found out that Laurens county was supposed to get 12 inches of snow through the day Monday. I normally help out at the Es on Mondays, and I don't drive in snow, so made arrangements to go back from church with them and spend the night. Anyways a little thought made me quickly decide that if there was a choice between getting snowed in at my brothers' or the Es - the Es won out, they had a woodstove to provide heat and make coffee if we lost power....priorities:-). It became more of an adventure, when Jenny's parents, sister, and her five children also decided that this would be a better place to get snowed in.....for the same reasons I think....or at least the first reason! I figured after all of us being so prepared, we wouldn't get anything and would be left laughing at ourselves, but no, woke to six inches this morning - which by the way is a lot for SC (though I've seen much bigger storms in VA). We've had a fun and interesting day - a little different than my normal workday......hot chocolate, dressing children to play in the snow, cooking lots of food, and cuddling the baby in between loads of laundry.......and enjoying being warm and out of the weather. As I write this snow has changed to sleet, and the power lines are iced over so we may end up enjoying quite a bit of togetherness camping by the woodstove tonight. As long as I have power I'll try to update on here....
Below are a number of pictures taken by Jenny and I.

The view we woke to this morning.

Since we've no place to go...let it snow! Nobody went into work today.

I tried to capture the falling snow, but this doesn't show it very clearly.

Fairview road.

I have to admit I had no desire to go outside and get cold and wet - but the children had fun.

"Fair Oaks"

Snow days are good for naps...

I made a huge post of beef stew, and Patti mixed up a hot fudge cake with Hannah, our little helper.

Dinner for 17.

We stocked up on plenty of food.

chocolate makes everything better......

...wine and chocolate - even better:-)

It was providential that the woodstove just go installed - no danger of us freezing!

Plenty more wood......try to stay warm and dry everybody!

We hope to be back to our normal routine on Monday.
